Stephanie and Justin’s destination wedding at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum was just perfect! From their exchanging vows during their first look to the bacon burger sliders (inspired by the bride and groom) to cutting the cake with a military sword, we were so honored to capture it!
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Getting married! Celebrating our love with our families and friends in the most beautiful city! We hope for and look forward to good weather and blooming azaleas in the gardens at the venue.
What inspired your wedding decor? Did you have a theme or feeling in mind?
Stephanie always wanted to get married in a garden, so we went with a “secret garden” type theme by choosing sage and green wedding colors.
Why did you pick the venue you chose?
Always wanted to get married in a garden! And we love Savannah so much. It has always been a favorite vacation place for us. It’s in the middle of our friends and families who are scattered throughout the South so when we saw the gardens at The Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum we knew we had to have it as our wedding venue. It is so magical!
What is your favorite feature about your wedding venue?
The gardens! They are lush and southern with the azaleas and ferns and brick walls, but also a bit English with the hedges and small trees. Also love the North Garden that is artsy and has a beautiful pool and rows of maples. We like that guests can explore.
Are there any particular vendor you are really excited to have for your day?
We are REALLY excited about the food! Cynthia at Cape Creations is doing a stations-style dinner with southern food. She’ll be serving bacon-burger sliders during cocktail in honor of our last names, Bacon & Burger!
Tell us about the food/drink at your wedding.
Southern Style food served at stations. We are super excited for the shrimp and grits! We will be doing an open bar with one signature cocktail, a margarita that we will call
First Date.” Our first date was tacos and margs!
Which part of your wedding did you want to WOW your guests?
We want the guests to be impressed at the reception! We are planning to have lots of string lights and we booked an amazing DJ, our friend DJ El. We will have a dance floor and all the fun dance music. Dancing is our favorite and we just want everyone to be on the dance floor with us having the best time.
