Nestled in the heart of downtown Savannah off the corner of Drayton Street and Perry Street lies the luxurious Perry Lane Hotel. The hotel is surrounded by oak trees and spanish moss giving all those southern vibes that you want and need when visiting Southern Georgia. The Perry Lane offers a unique indoor and outdoor space on roof level, so you not only enjoy the beautiful weather but also the beautiful views of the city of Savannah.
Marissa and Britt had visited and stayed in Savannah at the Perry Lane to celebrate the New Year in 2020. It became such a memorial trip that Savannah now had a spot in their life. After getting engaged, they knew it was the perfect place for them to host a destination wedding at.
Marissa and Britt are clearly some of those people that just make an impact on those around them. It was one of those weddings that you laugh along the guests and start tearing up all at the same time when their friends and family spoke about them. We were honored that they chose us to capture their wedding through photos and cinema.
Wedding Ceremony Look
Marissa found her dress at a local Atlanta bridal shop. It was a an elegant and chic style dress. It was a sleek align strapless gown with a slit and train to show a pop of leg. The bride had added a custom top piece for the ceremony that was removed for the reception to go from an off the shoulder design to a strapless dress. She completed the look with a slick back bun and pearl accents in the hairpiece and earrings. It perfectly played into their wedding day feel of elegance but with a little bit of glam.
Ceremony
The couple chose to say I do on the rooftop of the Perry Lane Hotel just off the ballroom. The rooftop has an intimate feel to it, with beautiful views of the historic district in Savannah. The rooftop was decorated with wooden chairs with beautiful floral displays by Hey Jude Florals, including white roses and white orchids with a display of candles to coordinate their reception look. They were one of the “lucky ones” that had rain throughout their wedding day, but it let up with just enough window for their dream outdoor ceremony.
Reception
Within the ballroom displays a blank canvas. With grey and black flooring, the couple continued an elegant and romantic white and black design. The tables included white table cloths with candles and white roses in clear vases. Once the candles were lit a romantic vibe took over the room. They had a custom neon sign made to fit behind their chairs.
